We used to live in one of the first private houses in Melksham that had a telephone - number 45x ... H J White the Draper lived here, at "Hillside", and had his shop on the High Street. Pictures are a couple of pages from the 1911 telephone directory; with so few phones, we were part of a wide ranging "Devizes Area".
